The large aluminium windows and doors on the rear deck sit in 100mm metal framework. The exposed framework between the windows and doors needs to be covered with cement board. There is approx 16mm space between the frame and the outer flange of the aluminium windows, so a sub-frame of 12mm timber was attached to the metal frame. The 4mm cement sheeting could then be applied directly to the timber sub-frame for a nice flush fit against the aluminium windows.

The project took three weekends (including painting the cement sheeting in Solagard Woodland Grey), and trimming/painting the eaves.
